Taiwan Taiyo Ink has been continuously reviewing its packaging practices from the perspective of its actual supply chain and has partnered with Pro-Design Group to introduce reusable crate carts, gradually converting some products from single-use corrugated cardboard boxes to reusable packaging. Through collaboration in packaging and supply chains, the reduction of single-use packaging materials has been moved from an improvement concept to a tangible implementation in daily supply operations.
From April 2025 to June 2026, shipments will be handled using the reusable crate cart method. Based on actual shipment records and original packaging conditions, it is estimated that approximately 6,550 single-use corrugated cardboard boxes will be reduced during the project period, equivalent to a reduction of approximately 10,950 square meters of cardboard material usage.
This collaboration is not a single packaging adjustment, but rather a joint review by Taiwan Taiyo Ink and Pro-Design Group of the feasibility of product protection, packaging usage, and recycling operations based on actual supply conditions, gradually integrating reusable packaging into the existing supply chain. As the scale of implementation continues to accumulate, the results of packaging reduction can be tracked through concrete data.
In terms of environmental benefits, based on publicly available emission coefficients, the carbon reduction benefit from reducing single-use corrugated cardboard boxes is estimated at approximately 15.99 tons of CO₂e. The assessment also included the increased transportation impact of implementing reusable packaging; after deducting these impacts, the overall project is estimated to have a net carbon reduction of approximately 15.84 tons of CO₂e.
Compared to focusing solely on single packaging material replacement, this collaboration emphasizes the feasibility of implementation within the actual supply chain. From packaging reduction and recycling to logistics conditions, a comprehensive assessment was conducted while maintaining product quality and supply stability. Through continuous implementation and practice, Taiwan Taiyo Ink has gradually made reducing single-use packaging a part of its daily supply chain.
