Commissioned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and organized by the International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF), the “Carbon Inventory Workshop” brought 15 climate and carbon trading officials from 11 countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Europe to visit Pro-Design Co., Ltd. on April 15, 2025. The visit aimed to explore the practical efforts of Taiwanese SMEs in carbon inventory, energy saving, and sustainable transformation.
As one of ICDF’s 16 annual training programs, the workshop promotes Taiwan’s experience in carbon credit mechanisms, carbon fees, and greenhouse gas reduction. Hosted by Director General Lee of the Small and Medium Enterprise and Startup Administration (SMESA), Pro-Design was chosen as a model SME for hands-on exchange.
General Manager Ms. Chen Weiru, CTO Andy Lin, and the Circular Economy Team shared the company’s carbon reduction roadmap initiated in 2020, covering plant-level carbon inventory, product carbon footprint management, and cross-departmental energy-saving initiatives. They also presented R\&D in green packaging, including PCR plastic containers, reusable liners, and bamboo fiber applications—showcasing sustainability in material and design.
Ms. Chen emphasized that despite limited resources, Pro-Design takes a practical, experimental approach to sustainability, aiming to be a “small but impactful” model for Taiwan. International participants responded positively, engaging actively in technical discussions.
This exchange highlighted the sustainability strengths of Taiwan’s SMEs and created opportunities for future international collaboration. Pro-Design will continue to promote sustainability with action and sincerity, contributing to a greener, better planet.
